Current program support: The Oak Grove Social Justice Committee has been actively engaged in supporting programs that address challenges faced by disadvantaged people within our society. Program supported in 2019 include 21st Century Academy ($1000), Exodus Lending Program ($500), Isaiah Sanctuary Support ($500), and El Paso, TX, migrant support through Annunciation House ($500).
Filled and distributed Homeless Bags several times a year.
Viewed and discussed the video Chosen and scheduled it for March 1st, 2020 Faith Formation.
Presented the award winning video Trigger at a special showing in the Sanctuary.
Registered as a Move to Amend Congregation and hosted a meeting of churches.
Proposed a Gun Violence Resolution for members to consider.
Presented a Faith Formation on the Sanctuary movement to support immigrants.

S 66, Assault Weapons Ban: Being held up by Republicans in Senate.
HR 1, For the People Act: Passed House by 234 Democrats and 0 Republicans. Being held up by Republicans in Senate.
H.J.Res. 48, Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States providing that the rights extended by the Constitution are the rights of natural persons only. Referred to Judiciary and Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. This coincides with the resolution proposed by the Social Justice Committee, adopted by Session in 2016, and by Presbytery in 2017 (Presbytery Newsletter “Emerge”).
