Palm Sunday, April 5, and Easter Sunday, April 12, will be online and livestreamed on Facebook and the website at 10:45 a.m. There will be no 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunrise service.

Maundy Thursday, April 9, will be online in some form. Details to be announced later.

Good Friday Service, April 10, will be an online worship service at 12:00 noon.

Office Hours

Church office hours will be irregular for awhile, so please call first before coming to the Church. The Church office will close at noon on Fridays. UPDATE: the church building will be closed March 28-May 4 during the Stay Home period.

Confirmation Classes

Confirmation will continue virtually, with the students presenting their Statements of Faith and being confirmed on schedule. The recognition of their becoming members will be celebrated at a later time.

Pastoral Nominating Committee

The Session is ready to present the nine-member slate for the Pastoral Nominating Committee to the Congregation.  Due to our current situation that prohibits gathering, the Congregational vote on the Pastoral Nominating Committee will be conducted by irregular means. A letter will be sent to all members either by email or regular mail. Members will have ten days to respond with a yea or nay, either by email to , phone 952-888-4621, or mail. This will allow the provisional Pastoral Nominating Committee to begin their work. When we can gather again, there will be a congregational meeting to affirm the slate.

Update about Oak Grove Staff (March 19): Please note that Pastor Anne, Pastor Mary, and Britta Weber are now working from home during the week. Bookkeeper Anne Swenson will be in the office only as needed. Office hours will probably change as we continue to adapt how we work. We will keep you updated. If you need to contact one of the pastors, call the church and we will be sure you are connected to one of them.

March 16, 2020 Letter from Pastor Anne

Here is an update about upcoming events in light of the COVID-19. Our concern is for all of our church community and beyond to be safe and well during these challenging times.

Our Session met on Sunday, March 15, and passed the following:

-The Rutter Requiem concert is postponed to November 1, 2020.

-Beginning Sunday, March 22, we will have a single VIRTUAL worship service at 10:45 a.m. with ONLY worship leaders and tech crew in attendance. We invite ALL to attend remotely via live-streaming and archived videos on Facebook and the web page.

-WoW! and Palm Sunday Brunch are cancelled. As of noon on March 16, all other church activities and meetings are delayed until further notice.

-Church office hours will continue: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. [UPDATE: see March 19 update above.]

There are things that you can do in this season of uncertainty:

-Pray for our Church, our community, and our world. While we are disrupted and inconvenienced by the virus, others are devastated and face ruin.

-Please keep your gifts and pledges to Oak Grove and other Not-for-Profits current. The needs will be great. You can send checks to the office or go to the DONATE page in our website to find other ways to keep your offerings current.

-Give generously to our One Great Hour of Sharing offering during our Lenten and Easter Season. A portion of that offering goes to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance which is one of the front lines of helping those most in need.

-Consider giving toward Easter flowers (even though we may see them only virtually). Money that we receive over and above our flowers for the sanctuary will go to VEAP, and the flowers will go to those who may need a bit of cheer and beauty during this trying time. Contact Sharon Fields at or 952-831-0504 to order flowers.

-Continue to offer creative and whimsical ideas as we strive to stay connected as a community. We need to think out of the box about how we can bear witness to God’s Love and mercy through Christ to each other and to the world.

Please contact Pastor Anne or Pastor Mary at the church office with any questions via email or phone: 952-888-4621

I give thanks to every one of you.

Pastor Anne

A Message about COVID-19 Virus Precautions at Oak Grove (March 15)

We are all aware of the COVID-19 virus and how it is affecting our daily life. As a community, Oak Grove Presbyterian thrives on gathering and being with each other in the name of Christ.

Here are some actions we encourage you to take to help people feel safe and remain healthy:

·First and foremost, if you are not feeling healthy, please stay home – but let us know that you are ill!

·Remember to wash hands regularly!

·Consider greeting one other with enthusiastic smiles and eye contact instead of a handshake.

Here are some actions the Church is taking:

·Let us know if you are sick so we can pray for you and care for you as a community.

·Please watch the Sunday morning services on the Oak Grove Facebook page or on our Website.

Prayer knows no barriers or walls and is not quarantined because of viruses. Let us keep each other close in our hearts.

Church Chats on January 26

On Sunday, January 26, 2020, part of our worship during the 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services will include “Church Chats,” a time for your thoughtful responses to questions about Oak Grove Church. We want to convey to potential pastoral candidates an accurate and candid description of our church, and for that, we need your help.

Every member and friend of the church can participate simply by coming to church on January 26 and giving candid and thoughtful responses to questions about the church. During worship, we will divide into groups. The facilitators and recorders will move from group to group with particular questions (think of it like “speed dating” only we are calling it “Church Chat”).

Following the 10:45 a.m. service, there will be a lunch where we can continue the conversations. Join us for a morning nourishment of mind, body, and spirit!
